Customer Reviews

Here are some reviews from their clients:

“Everyone here – staff and members, to a person – is so positive, helpful, and genuinely encouraging. They’ve really developed a culture of friendly improvement and are definitely a place where their members (and now me too!) really like to be. I seriously, seriously, never figured that I’d be in the gym happily at 6am, but here we are! Totally blew my CrossFit expectations away.”

“Started going to Prairie CrossFit in October 2019 and am loving this place! The coaches are amazing and the workouts are never boring. Everything can be scaled to your ability. I’ve already had a few “firsts” at the gym – like rope climbs and strict pull-ups. Never done those before, ever! Community is awesome too – do yourself a favor and get down here!”

If you’re looking for a gym that fits your schedule, you should check out Planet Fitness.

With its top-tier membership perks and benefits, we won’t wonder why it is one of the largest and fastest-growing fitness centers in Canada and beyond.

We love how this gym is available every day for 24 hours to cater to your fitness goals. If you’re a traveler, you can maximize your membership because you can access over 2000 branches around the world.

You have two membership benefit options, including the Black Card and Classic membership. Both types allow you to enjoy unlimited access to the home club and its team of trained staff.

Black Card members receive additional benefits, such as the ability to bring a guest for free and access to any of the gym’s locations. Aside from that, they also get access to other amenities, such as tanning equipment, hydromassage, and discounts on drinks and other products.

We love how the gym prioritizes safety and cleanliness in its facilities. Planet Fitness is the first fitness gym to achieve a WELL Health-Safety rating with strict cleaning protocols, touchless check-in, cleaning stations, and crowd meters.

On top of that, members can also access customized exercise plans from certified trainers if they need help using the equipment. Teens ages 14-19 can get free summer membership, and parents can also enjoy free day passes.

However, the gym has a relatively pricey annual fee. We think it should offer customers a less expensive option.

Pros

  • Opens 24 hours
  • Free membership for high school students
  • Over 2000 locations
  • An awardee of WELL health-safety rating

Cons

  • Relatively expensive annual fee

If you’re looking for a fitness center that has everything within your reach, you should check out Reh-Fit Centre. It has a wide range of services such as fitness classes, yoga classes, recreation, and even personal or group training.

We also love Reh-Fit Anywhere, which is a feature that allows members to gain immediate access to its virtual library. Here, they can uncover and use fitness classes, seminars, education sessions, and short training videos.

Another great thing about this fitness center is its comprehensive membership program that caters to individuals and groups. Its membership is offered to individual trainers, students, household add-ons or additional family members, and beginners.

Memberships run for 12 months from the enrollment date. Its membership fee also has a one-time payment of $100, which is more expensive compared to other fitness centers.

Its enrollment fee is payable upon registration and is non-refundable. Fortunately, beginners or Reh-Fit Starters can enroll in a trial for one to three months with a monthly cost of $85.

It also provides financial assistance and a buddy program for people of all abilities, which is a point for them in our book.

Aside from its membership options, we also love its expansive space has everything you need. Its 81,000-square-foot facility gives customers ample room to move freely and maintain physical distancing measures.

Moreover, it has its café, lounge, and shop where customers can find convenience items and Reh-Fit branded gear. Its amenities are also top-tier, such as its state-of-the-art training equipment, functional training zone, steam room, and more.

Unfortunately, this center has limited operating hours, especially on weekends. While this is not necessarily a deal-breaker, we wish it could be available 24/7 like other gyms in the metro.

Pros

  • State-of-the-art facilities
  • Requires one-time payment only
  • Multiple membership options
  • Offers virtual library for members
  • Offers financial assistance

Full Scene Athletic Centre is another community-based fitness center in Winnipeg that offers services to local members. But what sets it apart is its open floor concept that features a wide variety of equipment.

Members have access to the fitness center 24/7 with full-service perks. It offers expansive, top-quality strength, conditioning, weights, and cardiovascular equipment.

Aside from that, it has a wide range of amenities, which members love. They can enjoy its entertainment area, smoothie bar, and lounge with free wifi access.

In terms of security, members can have their peace of mind at Full Scene. Its 24/7 center is equipped with a video surveillance camera and offers a unique “members only” entrance during non-staffed hours.

It also has coaching programs that help members incorporate exercise and nutrition into their lifestyle through its flexible and progressive approach.

We love how it provides multiple options on its membership packages. It offers one-year membership, month-to-month membership, and discounted membership.

Discounted memberships are given to students, members of the same household, and corporate customers. Aside from that, customers can also opt to buy punch cards payable for every visit.

However, each package has a minimum commitment of 26 payments, which can be relatively expensive. We think it would be better to have a more affordable membership package or decrease the minimum commitment for discounted members.

Excellent facilities

” Brickouse is in my opinion the true definition of how a gym should be. It has pretty much every equipment you need whatever you are into fitness, crossfit or strongman training.

Place is kept clean (for a gym), schedule is well organized, staff are competent and friendly. Yes some weights and machine maybe are on the old side but 100% functional and thats what really matters.

I highly recommend this place if you dont mind weight drop noises and some slight grunting, parts of the gym life. Hands down to the owner. See you maybe there, no pain no gain. ” – Kelly John ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, Google Reviews

By far the best gym I’ve been a member at.

“By far the best gym I’ve been a member at. The equipment is amazing and we’ll taken care of. The owner Angelo makes you feel like you’re part of a community everytime you enter. I couldn’t recommend it more!” – Spencer Stanley

Everyone is friendly and encouraging which makes for a great space to hit PRs

“Definitely one of the best gyms I have been to. I’ve done all the commercial large scale gyms and you can definitely see the difference when the owner really cares about the space. Angelo is a one man show, he works extremely hard to ensure the space is as clean as possible and he’s a great listener. He hears what his members need and does everything he can to accommodate. Not only is Angelo and gym itself great, the members who come and work out are just as awesome. Everyone is friendly and encouraging which makes for a great space to hit PRs. On top of that, he doesn’t have any hidden fees [very transparent] and it’s open 24/7 [with key fob access]!”  -Tris Erica
