The Loft is a salon, spa, and bar – all in one! The boutique salon has been in business for over 15 years too, offering a wide array of services their customers can choose from.
The Loft has a diverse team of beauticians and estheticians capable of giving you pretty good pampering. However, we found that most of their junior stylists definitely showed their greenness in our sessions – you could tell they needed more time in training.
That said, there’s still a lot to like here. We especially enjoyed their bar.
After all, who wouldn’t want some wine while waiting for their turn on the chair, right? It’s just a really fun and unique concept that we wish more salons would adopt.
Their downtown location can be off-putting, however, and looking for parking spaces can be a bit difficult.
Their equipment also isn’t as high-tech as what’s in other salons. Still, their hospitable and skillful staff along with the owner, Gerald, help to make up for it, champagne glasses in hand.
Overall, it’s always a fun time at The Loft, making it one of our favourites when it comes to hair services. They always make sitting still for hours an enjoyable experience.

Verde Salon might just be one of the most interesting salons out there, being able to maintain a balance between luxury and sustainability.
We absolutely love that the company tries to minimise its environmental footprint. That’s while still striving to deliver an exceptional experience – which we do think they usually pull off, thanks to their passionate and creative stylists and staff.
We like that their location has a spacious parking area, and the salon itself is so pristine, clean, and airy. The inside has a really calm and relaxing air to it, and a first step inside the salon already gives off that luxurious ambiance.
They’re also easy to find on all social media platforms and are very accommodating, to say the least, so making a reservation isn’t a hassle.
In our experience, their stylists always do a great job, regardless of new talent or not. However, because the salon tends to be packed throughout the week, some stylists tend to work in a hurry.
This is probably the only thing we don’t like about Verde: the rushed service and less optimal results. So, better book early to avoid rushing your stylist.
Either way, a salon that stands by its principles in environmental sustainability is truly impressive. We all know the beauty industry isn’t one of the most sustainable, so we think this might attract quite a few environmentally conscious clients here.

True enough, we were immensely surprised at how Savile Row Salon delivered the exact colours we wanted when we tested them. We definitely think they’re the best when it comes to bringing your dream highlights and balayage to life.
Another nice thing about this salon is the way they present options to clients, we think. Hair talk can get technical at times, yet they never failed to explain everything to us and walked us through the process.
We think that’s something a lot of their clients appreciate, since some salons tend to jump right away to working without really consulting with the client. So, we love how everyone at Savile Row Salon is so patient, especially with 1-on-1 consultations.
True to their conviction of tailored beauty, Savile Row Salon definitely delivers the colours that a client wants. They’ll give you something better than what was in your reference photo – something that suits you best.

City Looks Salon has been in the business since 1996. Since then, they’ve garnered awards through their advocacy-driven service.
This is definitely a must-visit for us. We just love a very inclusive salon that doesn’t only make their clients look good but makes them feel beautiful too.
One of the most remarkable things about this salon is their dedication to their wig services, by the way. They often cater to clients dealing with female pattern balding and hair loss due to cancer treatments, alopecia, or trichotillomania.
They also specialise in scalp care for clients with thinning hair and those who are regrowing lost hair. We love this for our friends who are experiencing difficulty in going to a salon for these issues.
Their expansive venue also has a relaxed feel, making it comfortable for their clientele. We find it reassuring that they keep the place spotless at all times, which is certainly crucial if you have clients with certain medical conditions.
Another thing we want to put out there about City Looks Salon is how meticulous they are with their wig services for hair-loss patients. We heard a lot of remarks from their clients about their compassion setting them apart from their competition.

Élan Hair Studio was first established in 2005, and since then, they have been an especially popular salon for colouring services, such as blonding, balayage, and colour corrections.
Renn, the owner and one of the master stylists, has been in the industry for over 30 years. That already gives you an idea of the degee of experience in this place.
The stylists we dealt with also showed the sort of patience and professionalism we’d expect from similarly experienced hairdressers. We love that they also made sure we felt comfortable and content at every turn.
As for the results of their work, we couldn’t complain. Their brilliant precision haircuts will likely see you back into one of their chairs again and again.
Going from what we’ve seen from their other clients, their dimensional blondes, brunettes, highlights, and balayage seem equally stunning.
We were wondering how they get their colouring so perfectly, by the way, and it’s possible that it’s all because of the Schwarzkopf colouring products that they use. However, this may not be ideal for those on a budget (these are costly products).
Their pricing can get expensive even for other services. And some services, they charge by the hour, in addition to the products to be used.
