Kid City is one of the popular indoor playgrounds in Winnipeg. Their play centers are equipped with specialized play structure features that help develop your child physically and socially.

The first thing that we like about Kid City is their large play area. The place is over 10,500 square feet (975 square meters), with all kinds of fun and enjoyment for kids under 13 years of age.

Kid City has slides, tunnels, ropes, mazes, a punch bag forest, sports courts, and many more activities. They also have a dedicated space for toddlers that also encourages holistic development.

The services offered in Kid City are birthday parties, group events, private rentals, and supervised drop-off. We think their supervised drop-off is beneficial for parents who need to leave their kids for an hour or two to work or on other occasions.

We also like that they accept walk-ins. However, the admission rates are subject to change when the place is rented for a party.

Their admission rates are quite affordable, too. The ticket for kids ages 3-13 costs $14.96, and the admission rate for toddlers (ages 1-2) is $11.95.

Each paid access comes with one free admission for the parent or guardian. Additional guardians will have to pay $3.95 to get inside the play center.

Children’s Museum is a place where your kids can learn through play and exploration with the help of their interactive galleries. They’re a non-profit charitable organization with more than 35 years of experience in the industry.

Children’s Museum features twelve galleries that allow hands-on activities for the kids. They’re great for learning and exploring.

We love that you can explore the place by riding the authentic 1952 diesel locomotive and 1910 Pullman passenger coach. We think that this adds to the complete museum experience.

They also have a Tot Spot – an exclusive part of the museum for children under two years old. The activities are toddler-friendly and they have Mini Mondays from 10 AM to 2 PM, where they hold programs to help toddlers develop their motor skills.

Children’s Museum also features temporary exhibitions like the Eaton’s Fairytale Vignette. It’s where a fairytale collection is shown through animatronic woodland characters from the city of Winnipeg.

However, since it’s a temporary exhibition, it only lasts for a limited time.

The place is also available for parties and rentals where you can host birthdays and family parties. They also accept business meetings, weddings, and group sleepovers, among other events.

We also like that they have complimentary parking through Forks North Portage (FNP) Parking at the Forks. Just register your license plate after you check-in at the museum and you’ll have a 3-hour free on-site parking at The Forks.

Flying Squirrel Trampoline Park offers not just trampolines but climbing walls and a cafe for a complete fun experience with your family and friends.

We like that this place offers relatively affordable rates. Their general admission is priced at $20 for one hour and $30 for 1.5 hours of jumping and fun. 

We also like that it’s easy to buy tickets because they’re available to book either online or in-store.

The place is also toddler-friendly with a Kiddie Court dedicated to kids ages six years old and below. We’d also like to note that the admission for toddlers is quite affordable–they can enjoy bouncing for an hour for just $14.

It’s also good that they provide free admission to the toddlers’ parents so they can assist their children inside the jumping area. Just note that this doesn’t allow parents to use trampolines.

They offer specials like Neon Lights, where you can jump along to the hottest music under neon lights. They offer this every Friday and Saturday from 9 PM to 11 PM, and the rate is $30.00 for 2 hours.

However, it’s best to note that this special is available only for ages 13 and up.

Another thing that we like about Flying Squirrel Trampoline Park is that they offer party packages for birthday parties. The party is inclusive of two and a half hours of jump time.

To top it off, we love that Flying Squirrel Trampoline Park is open all throughout the week.

 Founded by the Assiniboine Park Conservancy, this park has been responsible for the operation and preservation of the historical area. 

The Assiniboine Park features zoos and park attractions and is home to over 180 animal species. You’ll see animals such as polar bears, gibbons, toucans, and farm animals, among many other species.

We like that this place exceeds the standard for taking care of animals. The proof is their membership accreditation from the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums and Canada’s Accredited Zoos and Aquariums, just to name a few.

We also like that Assiniboine Zoo Park offers both indoor and outdoor exhibits and attractions. They have a museum featuring dinosaur skeletons, fossils, and artifacts.

Another thing that we like about this entry is that they also provide guided tours to make the most of your visit. The price for an hour of a guided tour starts at $30 for a group of eight people.

But if you’d like to wander the 80 acres of land on your own, you can buy general zoo admission tickets. An adult ticket costs $21.75, while a child’s ticket costs $12.25. 

What’s good about their tickets is that you can use them within 90 days from the date of purchase. You can pre-buy tickets for your future trips.

It’s also easy to buy tickets since they’re available for online booking. However, their tickets are non-refundable.

Despite that, we still think that Assiniboine Zoo Park is a perfect place for recreation and learning. This place offers programs and workshops for the kids and the whole family.

LaserTopia is ideal for all ages and levels of skills in laser tag. So whether you’re a pro or a beginner, you’ll enjoy your stay here.  

We like that they also have other games, such as mini-bowling and arcade games, making this entry a perfect place for children and teens.

LaserTopia is also the only place in Winnipeg that offers Lazer Frenzy. This is a hybrid attraction that features an immersive environment of laser tag within an arcade game. 

What also piqued our interest is that they provide a drop-in home schooling program for kids. This service costs $15 for a single child and provides the opportunity for them to practice their cognitive and social skills. 

Aside from that, they also organize a summer camp for kids ages 6-13. This week-long program includes laser tag, STEM activities, and arts & crafts, among many others. 

However, we think it’s a downside that they’re only operating from afternoon to evening. The place is also closed on Mondays.

Nevertheless, another notable thing about LaserTopia is their affordable rates with a single game costing only $7.99 per person. But it’s best to note that a single match lasts approximately 15 minutes only.

Moreover, if you plan to celebrate birthdays, you can avail of their event packages. Their packages include two games of Laser Tag, unlimited popcorn, party supplies, set-up, and clean-up service.

Lastly, we like that they offer daily deals, like Arcade Wednesdays, where all arcade games are 50% off of their original price.

Vertical Adventures is a Winnipeg indoor rock climbing facility with over 5,000 square feet of space. This is the city’s only independently owned rock climbing venue.

We found this location unique as their climbing walls vary in difficulty, making it suitable for all family members. It’s also nice that their rock climbing walls are painted bright colors, creating a pleasant and engaging environment.

We found it convenient that they have a variety of equipment rentals, such as harnesses, grigri, shoes, and many more. This benefits clients, so they will be able to bring their gear.

If you plan to visit often, Vertical Adventures provides monthly and yearly memberships with no registration fee. They also offer a 10% discount for students.

We also liked that this rock climbing gym also hosts birthday parties for groups of six or more, where they have in-house staff to assist guests with the climbing equipment.

This area has over 32 wall surfaces, including bouldering and auto belays. It’s also worth noting that you can use their party room for 45 minutes after your two-hour climbing party if you need to cool down.

All in all, we think Vertical Adventures is one of the best places for kids activities in Winnipeg.

In 2011, Deer Meadow Farms began hosting educational programs wherein they focus on providing education and context for students to learn and experience the country in a safe and positive way.
